Caritas Lebanon annual fundraising Gala Dinner

On the occasion of the feast of Blessed Father Yacoub Al-Kabushi, Caritas Lebanon organized its annual fundraising gala dinner at Le Royal Hotel Dbayeh, under the patronage of the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi. The entertainment was gracefully offered by musician Michel Fadel and DJ Vinny Roumi. The proceeds of this gala dinner go to support the most vulnerable Lebanese, in accordance with Caritas Lebanon’s mission.
Over 460 prominent spiritual, political, union, banking, economic, media, and social figures attended, in order to support the vulnerable Lebanese during these challenging times.

Hope Center students Graduation ceremony

Under the theme “Hope 4 Life,” Hope Center in Bhersaf celebrated the graduation ceremony for its EB9 students, in the presence of President Father Michel Abboud, Executive Director Gilbert Zouein, Program Director Nayla Khoury, Head of Education Nancy Najjar, HOPE Center Coordinator Takla Azar, and the coordinators of Fghal and Zahle centers’, along with administration employees, center teachers, and students’ families.

Visit of the delegation of the bilateral Italian military mission in Lebanon

President Father Michel Abboud welcomed Colonnello Attilio Cortone, Deputy Chairman Military Technical Committee for Lebanon (MTC4L), Colonnello Sandro Iervolino, Commander of the bilateral Italian military mission in Lebanon, and Major Piero Rosignoli, Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation Team (CIMIC), at the headquarters in SinElFil.

The Maronite Bishop of Australia visit

The Maronite Bishop of Australia, Bishop Antoine-Charbel Tarabay, accompanied by the Archbishop of Melbourne Peter Andrew Comensoli and the Chancellor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne Annie Carrett, were welcomed by Caritas Lebanon Vice-President Dr. Nicolas El Hajjar , the Executive Director Gilbert Zouein, where they reviewed and discussed the history, activities, programs, and challenges of Caritas, exploring ways for future cooperation.

Launching the Cycle 3 of “Access to Sustainable Employment” program

The Cycle 3 of the “Access to Sustainable Employment” program is launched at Our Lady of the Field Monastery in Damour and in the Barja area.Around 100 participants are receiving training in digital marketing for businesses and Agro-processing. The free two-month course includes daily transportation allowance and a graduation certificate.

End Year celebration at Fghal Center

 Fghal Center’s students with specific needs celebrated the end of the 2023-2024 school year. They 
 performed the play ‘Our Lebanon’ and showcased their handmade crafts and sweets.

Before the end of the school year, the Patriarch Sfeir Center organized a fun day under the theme “Because Our Kids Deserve to Be Happy,” featuring games, face painting, and many activities.

Canadian Ambassador visit

Canadian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ambassador McCollum, visited Caritas Primary HealthCare Center in Sin El Fil as part of the “Ambassador for a Day” program accompanied by the high-school student winner, a team from the International Rescue Committee and her team. The purpose of the visit was to explore some of the development work Canada supports in Lebanon.

Launching the urban development and rehabilitation project in Sidon

The urban development and renovation project in the old neighborhoods of Sidon has begun, in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services and Habitat for Humanity. Our teams have started their preparatory visits to the neighborhoods and homes. The project will continue until the end of December 2024.
