Caritas Lebanon Akkar Sector organized a charitable lunch, gathering more than 400 persons at the Diwan Al-Wadi Restaurant in Qobaiyat, in the presence of distinguished religious, political, and civil figures.
The Head of the sector Michel Nassour said: “When you give, you become Caritas. It is the source of giving and faith, the mother of love, the daughter of the church, and the symbol of hope. Today, we, as Caritas, face great responsibilities that we must bear, regardless of the circumstances.” For his part, President Michel Abboud pointed out that “Caritas Lebanon is part of 162 Caritas organizations in 200 countries around the world, and everyone works with one spirit to help every person.”
In a special and surprising gesture, disabled Lebanese army members in Akkar presented a shield of appreciation to Father Abboud in recognition of his support and assistance during their time of distress.
