President Father Michel Abboud confirmed that “Caritas is preparing to provide hospitality and humanitarian aid to Lebanese displaced who may flee their southern regions in case of a crisis there”, noting that “Caritas has been in touch with several schools and monasteries to provide hospitality for potential Lebanese displaced, and is also working on providing food supplies for them”, urging “the provision of medicines and necessary funding to ensure heating, especially as winter is approaching”.
He concluded: “If war breaks out, we will be ready to help those in need, and if it doesn’t, the funds and aid will be used to extend a helping hand to the poor”.
