In the framework of the project “Lebanon: Eliminating All Forms of Forced Labor and Exploitation,” funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership between Caritas Austria, Caritas Lebanon, Kafa Organization, and Amel International, Caritas Lebanon, in cooperation with Amel International, organized a training workshop titled “The Role of Municipalities and Civil Society Organizations in Combating the Crime of Human Trafficking.”
The workshop was held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Royal Tulip Hotel – Achrafieh. Several representatives from municipalities and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from various Lebanese regions participated in the workshop. The training covered various topics, including migration and domestic work for migrant workers, mental health and primary psychological support, the role of municipalities as judicial police in combating human trafficking, and enhancing cooperation between municipalities and CSOs to protect the most vulnerable groups. The workshop was interactive to enhance the referral system for domestic workers to the appropriate service and to combat the crime of human trafficking.
