Visit of the Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon Jesús Santos

The Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jesús Santos, and his delegation visited Caritas Lebanon to learn more about the vital humanitarian work the organization carries out in serving the community.

 

The visit began with a tour of the Primary Healthcare Center in Sin El Fil, where the ambassador was introduced to the various medical services provided to patients. He also listened to firsthand testimonies from staff and volunteers about their dedicated efforts to support the most vulnerable.

 

Following the tour, Ambassador Santos met with Caritas Lebanon’s President, Father Michel Abboud and several officials from the organization. During their discussion, they addressed the challenges Caritas faces amidst Lebanon’s ongoing economic and social crisis and highlighted the importance of sustained international support to ensure the continuity of Caritas’s humanitarian initiatives.

 

Ambassador Santos expressed his deep appreciation for Caritas efforts, noting that the organization’s work embodies the values of solidarity. He reaffirmed Spain’s commitment to continue supporting initiatives that improve living conditions in Lebanon.

 

Father Michel Abboud emphasized Caritas’s unwavering commitment to its humanitarian mission, despite the numerous challenges. He highlighted the crucial role of international cooperation and ongoing support to enhance Caritas’s ability to continue its vital work in the community.
