Spiritual and administrative meeting for Caritas Akkar Sector

In an atmosphere filled with warmth and love, the Maronite Archbishopric House in Akkar hosted a special meeting that brought together Father Michel Abboud, President of Caritas Lebanon, with members of the Akkar sector, volunteers, and youth. This day carried significant spiritual and administrative dimensions.

The meeting began with the Divine Liturgy, led by Father Michel Abboud, who delivered a sermon emphasizing the importance of daily gatherings that strengthen spiritual bonds. He stressed the greatness of the Holy Eucharist, which embodies the presence of the Lord among us. He also provided a detailed explanation of the Christian Creed, highlighting how this creed forms the foundation of faith and serves as the driving force behind Caritas’ commitment to serving humanity and society with Christian love.

Monsignor Elias Georges praised the efforts of Caritas members and their dedication to serving the community, particularly their continuous support for the poor and needy. He stressed the importance of maintaining this noble mission under the Church’s supportive umbrella.

In a dialogue segment, Father Michel Abboud gave an intervention titled “Where is the Child in Caritas?” inspired by the Magi’s question, “Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews?” He highlighted how we can experience God’s presence in our daily lives through the commitment to serving others. He discussed the concept of commitment within Caritas at the levels of faith, work, and creativity, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to strengthen and advance the sector’s work.

The meeting concluded with words of gratitude from the sector’s president, Mr. Michel Nasr, who expressed his appreciation for the fruitful and inspiring day. The day culminated with a lunch gathering, creating a brotherly atmosphere that reflected the spirit of love and cooperation that defines Caritas’ work.

This gathering was an opportunity to strengthen the sense of team spirit and reaffirm Caritas’ mission, which remains centered on serving humanity, especially those in greatest need, as a core priority of the organization and its faith.
