Father Michel Abboud, alongside the Executive Director Gilbert Zouein, the Director of Programs Nayla El Khoury, Head of Grants Management Mary Anoushahodian and Head of Business Development Lama Srour, warmly welcomed a Norwegian Delegation, that included the Humanitarian Adviser at Caritas Norway Bendik Sorvig and the Attache for humanitarian aid at the Norwegian Embassy in Lebanon Christine Knudsen, at Caritas Headquarters in Sin El Fil, where they delved into Caritas Lebanon’s impactful implementation strategies, and focused in particular on our Emergency Response efforts in the South.
Following the discussions, Father Abboud, accompanied by the Head of Business Development, escorted our guests to the main center of our Emergency Response Unit in Halat, where they were received by the Head of Emergencies Department Peter Mahfouz and the Emergency Deputy Coordinator Samir Haddad.
During their visit, they were briefed about the current security situation in Lebanon and especially in the South, as well as the preparedness and response of Caritas Lebanon to the Emergency happening, how Caritas is supporting families that are still in the border villages and IDPs that moved toward Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
The delegation was then treated to an insightful tour in the center, witnessing firsthand the dedication and efficiency of our operations.
