Father Abboud stated:
“Caritas Lebanon is present in this city, which has been wounded by aggression and hardship. We are here to serve those who can’t reach our centers. The large local turnout is a sign of that need. Caritas doesn’t want any patient to suffer in silence; that’s why we are here.”
He highlighted the humanitarian partnership between the Lebanese Army, the Ministry of Public Health, and the European Union, noting that “these campaigns reassure the people of the South that they are not forgotten.” He also praised Caritas’ ongoing work in social, developmental, educational, and protection services throughout its southern branches.
Father Abboud extended his heartfelt thanks to all local and international supporters, especially the Lebanese diaspora who have continued to support their homeland; either directly to their families or through trusted organizations like Caritas Lebanon.
Rana Raad emphasized the Ministry of Public Health’s ongoing commitment to supporting the people of the South with essential healthcare services. She commended Caritas Lebanon’s role in standing with the community and facilitating this important medical event.
Elias Khattar spoke about Caritas’ role in southern Lebanon and the increasing needs faced by the local population, particularly following the recent Israeli aggression that caused widespread property damage.
Brigadier General Iyad Al-Alam underlined the shared humanitarian mission between the army and Caritas:
“Our goal is the same: the Lebanese Army stands by its people to meet their needs, just as Caritas does as a church-based organization dedicated to serving those in need.”
Medical campaigns continue throughout the South via Caritas Lebanon’s healthcare centers and mobile clinics.
