“Because empowerment begins with learning and work, Caritas continues its commitment to building bridges of hope”
Caritas Lebanon announced the launch of the second phase of the Work-Based Learning Program, as part of its efforts in humanitarian relief, empowerment, and development, funded by the International Labour Organization.
The project targets the areas of Furn El Chebbak in Mount Lebanon and Zgharta in the North, extending over two months and including 80 trainees who will receive intensive training in basic sewing skills. This training aims to equip them with life and professional skills, thereby enhancing their opportunities to secure a sustainable income source for their families.
As part of the practical application, the trainees will participate in producing 1,000 winter kits, including blankets and bed covers, to be distributed to the most needy families among displaced persons and host communities, reflecting Caritas’ commitment to supporting the most vulnerable groups and promoting social stability.
