Caritas Lebanon’s HOPE Center launched its annual cultural week under the theme “Citizenship and Resilience”, in an event aimed at promoting participation, creativity, and discovery among students and the local community.
The week was marked by a vibrant showcase of student talents through art exhibitions, theatrical and cultural performances, diverse workshops, and heritage tasting booths, in addition to dialogue sessions and discussions highlighting topics such as cultural exchange, Lebanese heritage, tourist destinations, Phoenician civilization, and prominent Lebanese literary and philosophical figures. The program also included activities focused on local industries, recycling, and agriculture, including grape cultivation and winemaking.
On the scientific front, students presented innovative research projects and models on environmental and technological topics such as solar energy, wastewater treatment plants, elevator mechanisms, water wells, and even a car designed from recycled materials, among other purposeful initiatives.
In the sports segment, students learned about the basic rules of football and basketball, and explored the biographies of prominent players from Lebanon, Asia, and around the world through their research and presentations.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including:
His Excellency Bishop Antoine Bou Najm, Bishop of Antelias;
Father Michel Abboud, President of Caritas Lebanon;
