Caritas Lebanon has officially been awarded the Caritas Internationalis Management Standards (CIMS) Compliance Certificate, issued by Caritas Internationalis at the Vatican on 8 September 2025.
This certification is the result of a comprehensive and rigorous evaluation conducted by the CIMS Review Committee in Rome, confirming that Caritas Lebanon fully complies with internationally recognized standards of management, governance, transparency, and ethics within the global Caritas network.
The assessment confirmed Caritas Lebanon’s compliance across key core areas, including:
Catholic identity and adherence to local legislation
Ethics and professional conduct
Good governance and sound management
Financial auditing and accountability
Safeguarding and protection of vulnerable groups
Caritas Internationalis also expressed particular appreciation for Caritas Lebanon’s performance over the past four years, notably in the areas of safeguarding, financial procedures, risk management, and anti-corruption mechanisms.
With this achievement, Caritas Lebanon becomes the only Caritas organization in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to obtain this certification, and one of only 26 Caritas organizations worldwide out of a total of 162.
The Management of Caritas Lebanon extended its sincere gratitude to all staff members, employees, pastoral advisors, volunteers, and partners, whose dedication and commitment made this milestone possible—reaffirming the organization’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in service.
