Following a series of around-the-clock meetings and consultations, Caritas Lebanon President Fr. Samir El Ghawi has announced a state of emergency effective immediately and until further notice, in light of the rapidly evolving security situation and growing humanitarian needs across the country.
This decision reflects Caritas Lebanon’s commitment to enhancing its readiness to respond swiftly, address urgent humanitarian needs, and support affected families during this critical time.
The organization has begun taking necessary measures to reinforce preparedness and coordinate efforts across its centers and field teams, ensuring close monitoring of developments and the ability to respond as needed.
Caritas Lebanon stressed the importance of safeguarding affected families and ensuring access to humanitarian assistance in safe and dignified conditions. It also emphasized the priority of protecting its staff and volunteers by implementing measures to ensure their safety while carrying out their missions.
