Caritas Lebanon President, Father Michel Abboud, accompanied by Executive Director Mr. Gilbert Zouein and several officials and staff members, welcomed the Belgian Ambassador to Lebanon during an official visit to Caritas headquarters.
The visit began with a tour during which the Ambassador learned about Caritas Lebanon’s humanitarian and social mission, which extends its services across all Lebanese regions and supports every person without discrimination based on race, religion, or affiliation.
His Excellency praised Caritas Lebanon’s tremendous efforts in serving the most vulnerable groups, highlighting the dedication and commitment that distinguish its field teams. He emphasized that Caritas’ work reflects the shared values of solidarity that unite the Lebanese and Belgian peoples.
The Ambassador also stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the Belgian Embassy and Caritas Lebanon across various joint programs and projects, particularly those serving all people living in Lebanon: Lebanese citizens, refugees, and migrants alike, in a way that upholds human dignity and alleviates suffering.
For his part, Father Abboud expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador and to Belgium for their support through ongoing partnerships, reaffirming Caritas Lebanon commitment to continue serving every human being with love, the essence of Caritas’ mission.
