Opening of a Health Center in Hammana.

Under the patronage of Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, Hammana Health Center was inaugurated, attended by a crowd of spiritual, political, and social figures, and mayors and local leaders, as well as Cartias Lebanon Board members.
Dr. Nicolas al-Hajjar, Vice President of Caritas Lebanon and supervisor of the health department, emphasized in his speech that “joint efforts and cooperation among many generous hands and supporting institutions have resulted in a distinctive health center as we see it today,” stressing that “good health is the backbone of a sound society, not just a treatment for diseases but an investment in the future of the nation and its upcoming generations. Those who possess health possess hope.”

Governor of Mount Lebanon Judge Mohamad Makkawi announced that “Caritas Lebanon has stood by the Lebanese for more than half a century in continuous service and work, becoming a trusted entity in quality and standards. Based on this, the municipality of Hammana signed a memorandum of understanding with Caritas for the restoration, rehabilitation, and operation of this center.”

Randa Hamadeh, Director of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, explained the nature of primary health care and discussed the partnership with Caritas, affirming that “partnership is action.”

Archbishop Antoine Bou Najem, supervisor of Caritas’ activities, acknowledged “the efforts that came together to achieve this result.”

Patriarch Al-Rahi’s speech was delivered by Bishop George Abi Younes, who expressed the Patriarch’s joy “at the reopening of Hammana center, praying that it meets the aspirations of everyone.”

Lastly, President Father Michel Abboud introduced the team that will manage the center, before attendees toured its departments to see its facilities.
