A phrase inspired by Pope Francis “We are brothers” gathers all Caritas sisters from all over the world for a general assembly in Rome under the theme “Building New Paths of Brotherhood”. The Pope will open the assembly with a private audience.
Caritas Lebanon President Father Michel Abboud participates in this assembly accompanied by Treasurer Nadim Nader, Head of Youth Peter Mahfouz, and a representative of the Youth Jamil Nohra.
This assembly will be held until the 16th of May and will discuss the election of Caritas leaders for the following four years, global challenges, cooperation, and the role that Caritas has despite the many crises that the world is currently facing. It will be organized in the presence of approximately 400 delegates representing 162 Caritas organizations operating in 200 countries around the world.
Also present, the Maronite Archbishop of Tripoli Archbishop Youssef Soueif as well as the Regional Coordinator of Caritas (MONA) Karam Abi Yazbeck.
