Caritas Lebanon President Father Michel Abboud held a meeting at the headquarters in Sin El Fil, with the Director of Diaspora and Migration Issues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar Jessie Razafison, accompanied by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Chamarly Andrian and the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Madagascar to the Lebanese Republic Mohamed El Jozo, in the presence of Caritas Vice-President Dr. Nicolas Al-Hajjar and Executive Director Gilbert Zouein.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Caritas’s support for Madagascan domestic workers in Lebanon. The delegation highlighted the travel ban issues faced by the workers and the unresolved problems related to their employment and rehabilitation. These challenges were preventing the workers from operating within Lebanese laws and exercising their rights. The delegation expressed gratitude to Caritas Lebanon for their valuable services and emphasized the organization’s profound impact that extends beyond the borders of Lebanon.
