Caritas Lebanon Agricultural Training Program in Harajel with Support from Caritas Denmark

Caritas Lebanon, in partnership with the Municipality of Harajel, is implementing a two-month agricultural training program that brings together approximately 40 local women. A second round of training is expected to launch soon, aiming to expand the program’s reach and benefit more participants.

The training combines theoretical instruction with practical experience, focusing on modern agricultural techniques. Participants gain knowledge and skills in areas such as sustainable farming, grafting, pruning, and pest control. Hands-on activities complement the sessions, including mulberry harvesting for syrup production and the preparation of sour grape (hosrom) syrup.

This initiative is part of the project “Enhancing Protection and Livelihood Opportunities for Vulnerable Groups and Host Communities in Lebanon,” carried out by Caritas Lebanon in collaboration with Caritas Denmark. The project seeks to strengthen local communities by improving agricultural capacities and enhancing the economic and social well-being of families.
