The Caritas Baabda II sector hosted its annual gathering for the elderly from local parishes, featuring a Divine Liturgy at Saint Therese Church in Fayyadiyeh. The Mass, offered for the intentions of the elderly, was presided over by Father Michel Abboud, President of Caritas Lebanon, with the assistance of Father Issam Ibrahim, representing Bishop Boulos Abdel Sater, Archbishop of Beirut for the Maronites. Other participants included Father Roland Murad, Sectors Coordinator; Father Fadi Sader, Regional Advisor; and Father Roger Charfan.
Attendees included Dr. Charbel Botros, President of the Baabda II sector, along with members of the regional office. Pierre Fadoul, President of the Baabda I sector, and other regional office members, volunteers, and Caritas Youth were also present.
Father Abboud expressed his gratitude to those present, highlighting Caritas’ 52-year legacy of community service and its mission of spreading love. He emphasized the importance of unity, both as a family and within the wider community, and the need to embody God’s love through acts of kindness and prayer.
Following the Mass, a luncheon was held for the elderly, graced by the presence of Lebanon’s First Lady, Mrs. Nehmat Aoun. In her speech, Mrs. Aoun commended Caritas for its tireless work and dedication to helping those in need, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the organization to support others. She shared her belief that both she and President Joseph Aoun rely on Caritas and the power of prayer to rebuild and revive Lebanon, ensuring that future generations inherit the country they deserve. Mrs. Aoun expressed her unwavering support and commitment to assisting Caritas in any way possible.
