Caritas Lebanon organized a workshop entitled “How to Maintain Business Sustainability and Employment During Crises” at the Hilton/Al Habtoor Hotel, as part of the project “Empowering Youth to Secure Sustainable Employment and Improve Livelihoods” funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation in cooperation with Caritas Switzerland and Caritas Denmark.
The workshop brought together owners of small enterprises and projects and beneficiaries of the program, which lasted for about two years, during which participants received training and technical and material support.
Caritas Lebanon president Father Michel Abboud opened this workshop with a speech, in which he called on the young people to complete their commitment and their professional path, especially after the training and support they received from the work team, motivating them with positive energy, pointing out that “the work of Caritas Lebanon is not limited to giving food and providing medicine, but rather it is a message and Support for individuals and communities.”
The Director of the Development and Livelihoods Department of the Association, Joseph Bou Assi, gave a summary of the program and practical results.
The workshop was coordinated by the entrepreneur trainer, Mr. Andre Abi Awad, in the presence of representatives of partners and local entities.
Some products from project owners and small enterprises were presented, and experiences were exchanged.
The workshop included more than 80 small institutions, beneficiaries and trainees within the program, which supported more than 500 trainees and 160 institutions and small projects within the Beirut, Mount Lebanon and Bekaa regions.
