Caritas Lebanon held its first annual general assembly for the year 2024 at its headquarters in Sin el-Fil.
At the beginning, a mass was held celebrated by Bishop Bou Najem, who emphasized in his sermon that “Caritas’ mission and role require standing by the weak, the poor and the suffering people, and the abandoned in a harsh and distant society from the Lord.”
After the mass, Father Abboud opened the session with a speech stressing that “Caritas is well and continues to fulfill its mission.”
Following this, the attendees approved the minutes of the previous general assembly meeting held on 11-9-2023. Then, Secretary-General Attorney Fadi Karam presented the report on Caritas’ activities from 1-1-2023 to 31-12-2023. Treasurer Nadim Nader presented the financial report and budget for the fiscal year ending 31-12-2023, followed by the external auditor’s report for the financial year 2023. The presented reports were then discussed.
At the end, the attendees voted to approve the activity report, financial statements, budget, and the auditor’s report, and re-elected Grant Thornton as the external auditor for 2024.
