Caritas Lebanon received at its headquarters in Beirut, a papal gift sent by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV as an expression of the Holy See’s steadfast positions and its deep solidarity with Lebanon and its people.
The gift included seven pallets of essential medicines and medical supplies,a humanitarian message affirming that the Catholic Church, at its highest level, has never for a single moment forgotten Lebanon in its time of hardship.
The gift was delivered by the Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon, Monsignor Paolo Borgia, who attended in person bearing the Pope’s message to the Lebanese people, his presence embodying the full significance of this pastoral and humanitarian initiative. On behalf of the Italian Army, Colonel Nicola Castelli formally handed over the gift to Caritas Lebanon President, Father Samir Ghaoui.
This initiative reaffirms the profound love the Holy See holds for Lebanon, and simultaneously reflects the enduring bonds that unite Italy and Lebanon on both the official and humanitarian levels.
