For equality, dignity, and against gender-based violence in Lebanon

By September 2028, Caritas will provide basic life support to 300 internally displaced and vulnerable households while also raising awareness, empowering, and protecting more than 2,000 vulnerable women and girls—including both Syrian refugees and Lebanese women in the Bekaa region and at a safe shelter in a hidden location in Lebanon—through prevention and comprehensive services to respond to gender-based violence and exploitation. This urgent action is driven by the ongoing war with Israel, the deep economic and financial crisis, and the lingering consequences of the war in Syria, which have dramatically increased poverty and internal displacement across Lebanon, leading to rising discrimination and gender-based violence in a context where no systemic solutions exist to protect women and children.
