Social, sustAinable and incLusive heAlth care systems in Med area
Across the Mediterranean, access to healthcare is not equally available, especially in Lebanon and Jordan, where crises have exposed severe gaps in services, staff shortages, and limited resources. SALAM, involving Italy, Spain, Lebanon, and Jordan, addresses this shared challenge by scaling up digital health solutions, such as telecardiology, through two hospital hubs and mobile medical units. It strengthens healthcare systems by training professionals, raising community awareness, integrating narrative medicine, and developing low-cost medical devices through open innovation. By linking universities and NGOs, SALAM delivers scalable, people-centered solutions that enhance equity, resilience, and quality of care across Mediterranean territories.
