Caritas Lebanon’s Central Bekaa Sector hosted a fundraising evening at Hotel Masabki in Jdita-Chtoura, under the patronage of Caritas Lebanon President Fr. Michel Abboud. The event gathered regional leaders, including Vice President Dr. Nicolas Al Hajjar, Regional Coordinator Fr. Roland Murad, Jesuit priest Fr. Joseph Nassar, Central Bekaa center spiritual advisor Fr. Elian Abu Chaar, Regional Head Mirna Khazaqa Hayek, and social activists, professionals, and donors.
The event highlighted Caritas’s mission of humanitarian aid, emergency relief, and community development. Khazaqa Hayek explained that the event, organized over two months, aimed to raise funds through a raffle to support the needy with food, medical supplies, and fuel ahead of winter.
Fr. Abboud emphasized the importance of generosity and solidarity, sharing a story illustrating that life and true survival come from sharing and helping others. He thanked the regional team, supporters, and donors for enabling Caritas to continue its humanitarian work.
The evening also included tributes to Fr. Abboud, Fr. Roland Murad, and Fr. Joseph Nassar for their dedication to Caritas’s mission.
