Leadership Handover at Caritas Baabda II Sector

Members of the Caritas Lebanon – Baabda II sector officially assumed their new roles, succeeding the outgoing team after nine years of service, in a ceremony at the Headquarters in Sin el-Fil. The event was attended by Caritas Lebanon President Fr. Michel Abboud, Regional Coordinator Fr. Roland Murad, newly appointed Regional Chaplain Fr. Tony Karam, former and current board members, and Media Officer Maguy Makhlouf.

Outgoing Sector President Dr. Charbel Boutros expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and his team, highlighting the region’s work across 36 parishes in 17 villages, including 4 Orthodox communities. He emphasized the vital role of schools, youth, and volunteers in outreach programs, particularly during the Lent campaign, and called for continued coordination between the central office and the sector.

Fr. Abboud then announced the new Baabda II leadership, appointed for a three-year term:

  • President: Marcel George Saghbini
  • Vice President: Rina Boutros Abboud
  • Secretary: Fadia Fouad Rizkallah Qartabawi
  • Treasurer: Dr. Charbel Hanna Boutros
  • Spiritual Advisor: Fr. Tony Joseph Karam
  • Board Members: George Salim Zoghbi, Joelle Maroun Dib, Nora Simon Matta, Tamina Youssef Zakhor, Chantal Raji Haikal, Rock Richard Sarofim, Rokez Louis Helou, Samia Tanios Haddad-Klass
  • Youth Coordinator: Marian Hanna Geha
  • Social Worker: Hala Tanous Moussa Hanna

Fr. Abboud reaffirmed Caritas Lebanon’s commitment to supporting communities and fostering compassion, while Dr. Boutros wished the new team success in continuing the mission of service, solidarity, and love for those in need.
