Under the patronage and presence of Bishops Elie Haddad and Maroun Al-Amar, Caritas Lebanon’s Saida-Zahrani-Nabatieh sector held its annual Thanksgiving Mass at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Saida. The ceremony was attended by clergy, local officials, parliamentarians, volunteers, and community leaders.
Bishop Haddad praised Caritas as “more than an institution; it is a testimony of faith,” highlighting its service to all, regardless of religion or background, and cited the Church’s teaching: “Whoever gives even a cold cup of water to one of these little ones gives it to me.”
Father Michel Abboud, Caritas Lebanon President, thanked the bishops, regional leadership, and staff, emphasizing that “our will is to work, and our goal is heaven—let us continue this journey together, hand in hand, for the sake of humanity and God.”
Dr. Elie Khatour, Head of Caritas Saida-Zahrani-Nabatieh, expressed gratitude to volunteers and staff for their daily service, presenting Father Abboud with a commemorative shield in recognition of his leadership and dedication to serving the most vulnerable in Lebanon.
The Mass concluded with a reflection on love, compassion, and solidarity as the foundation of Caritas’ mission across Lebanon.
