Organized by Caritas Lebanon in collaboration with the Insan Foundation and in partnership with the Ministry of Public Health
In a remarkable humanitarian initiative, Caritas Lebanon, in collaboration with the Insan Foundation, organized a free medical day at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Kobayat, benefiting more than 300 residents of the town and its surrounding areas.
From the early morning hours, Caritas Lebanon’s medical team arrived fully equipped and efficiently organized, ensuring smooth and professional service delivery. A notable group of doctors from Kobayat who currently reside outside the town also participated in the campaign, responding to the call and returning to offer their expertise to their community.
Mr. Michel Abdo, Mayor of Kobayat and President of the Insan Foundation, expressed his pride in this collaboration and emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives. He affirmed that this event marks the beginning of future humanitarian projects aimed at serving people wherever they are. What took place, he said, is a model of joint humanitarian work and a prelude to broader efforts to serve Kobayat and its people.
During the event, Ms. Sandy Hakmeh, Head of the Health Department at Caritas Lebanon, stated that this initiative reflects Caritas’s ongoing mission to stand by every person in need—physically, socially, and humanly. She highlighted that this campaign carried a special meaning thanks to the participation of local doctors, who demonstrated a spirit of belonging and generosity, while coordination was also ensured with doctors residing in the area.
She also extended her gratitude to the collaborating health institutions, particularly Our Lady of Peace Hospital – Kobayat, for their continuous support which strengthens the success of such medical and humanitarian initiatives.
To conclude the day, the Insan Foundation hosted a luncheon honoring both resident and visiting doctors, along with the medical team, in an atmosphere of appreciation and fellowship.
