The launch of “URGENCE ENFANCE LIBAN”campaign for free and immediate Milk Provision
In the context of the acute economic crisis that Lebanon is currently going through in which more than 60% of the population is below the poverty line and is no longer able to provide basic necessities to their infants, an act of solidary has risen to help a large number of children whereas the survival of a majority depends on generous initiatives.
This situation threatens to worsen with the lifting of subsidies announced at the end of May, the halt in imports and the rampant devaluation of the currency. It will further weaken the poorest families. Babies and children are the first victims of this injustice. Expensive and sometimes unavailable, milk is sorely lacking!
To face this situation of great distress, we are launching our Campaign: Childhood Emergency Lebanon
We are the Notre Dame du Liban parish in Paris, with the help of French associations and in collaboration with Caritas Lebanon are calling for humanitarian actions to fulfill the gap occurring in the vital Milk needs amongst Lebanese babies.
This campaign is urgent because it tackles early childhood. We are aiming to reach our goal of donating 30,000 boxes of infant formula to be distributed to orphans and families in need across the country.
We have collected to date 13,707 euros. This will allow us to deliver the first batch of around 10,000 boxes from Caritas Lebanon.
