CAFOD, Caritas Poland and FACE visit Caritas Lebanon


Caritas Lebanon led by President Father Michel Abboud accompanied by treasurer Nadim Nader and Director of Programs, Charbel Zeidan, organized a tour for British cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and supervisor of CAFOD, Cardinal Michael Fitzgerald, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at CAFOD, Bishop John Arnold, Head of Mission - Lebanon and Syria at Caritas Polska Dominik Derlicki, and Chairman of Fellowship and Aid to the Christians of the East, John Fox.

The beginning of the visit was from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Hall – Haret Sakher- Jounieh, where a Free Medical Day was taken place for more than 300 beneficiaries from the area, being provided with all types of medical services.

The delegation visited one of Caritas Lebanon’ safe shelters for Migrant workers, minors and refugees, where they listened to moving testimonies from the residents and how Caritas provided them help and support

The tour ended at Caritas Lebanon’s headquarters where they were joined by Archbishop Michel Aoun, the supervising bishop of Caritas Lebanon, Executive director Gilbert Zouein and members of the administration. Dr, David Elkins, Head of Emergency & Project Coordinator, presented to the participants Caritas Lebanon’s current plans and programs as well the strategic plan set for 2022.

At the end of the visit, the delegation thanked Caritas Lebanon for all the continuous support to the vulnerable and in need in Lebanon. And reinforced their support and cooperation to help overcome these difficult times
