Hoda is a single mother who has been abandoned by her husband in 2004 after giving birth to their daughter and were both diagnosed with diabetes. Hoda couldn’t afford to buy insulin for both herself and her daughter, so she stopped taking her treatment in order to provide it to her daughter. In 2012, Hoda tried to treat her injured leg several times but with no results because of her condition and had to amputate it. At the age of 16 Hoda’s Daughter, Rafqa, had to leave school and work as a cleaning lady and is paid 450,000 LBP a month which barely covers their basic needs.

هدى امرأة هجرها زوجها بعد ولادة ابنتها سنة 2004 وتعاني هي وابنتها من مرض السكري. هدى لم تتمكن من شراء دواء ال Insulin لها ولابنتها ففضلت شرائه لابنتها. في ال 2012 حاولت هدى معالجة رجلها عدة مرات ولكن من دون نتيجة بسبب حالتها الصحية ما أدّى الى بتر رجلها. على عمر ال 16 أجبرت ابنة هدى على ترك المدرسة للعمل كعاملة تنظيف وتتقاضى 450،000 ل.ل وهذا المبلغ لا يكفي لتغطية حاجاتهم الأساسية.
