3 Workshops were held in the aim of developing standard operating procedures for the identification and referral of gender-based violence survivors with the the help of the British embassy. Thursday 31 January 2019

During December 2018 and January 2019, the Migrant Department carried out 3 workshops at the Padova hotel with the aim of developing standard operating procedures for the identification and referral of gender-based violence survivors. The workshops were organized with the help of the British embassy, and were attended by VIP guests such as the British Embassy Magna Carta team. Pictures were taken to commemorate the events.

The Manual developed during the three workshops sets forth the standard operating procedures to facilitate the survivors’ access to justice and to protection services within the applicable laws and the ratified international human rights conventions, particularly the ones related to women and their dignity.

It is important to note that the written measures will be included in the national standard operating procedures on gender-based violence in Lebanon which are being prepared by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
