Within the framework of the project “Protecting Women and Girls From Violence in Lebanon” funded by the British Embassy Caritas Lebanon organized a series of awareness sessions regarding Law No. 293. 534 women from all over Lebanon in addition to Caritas healthcare staff participated in the workshops.
On February 27th, 2019, the first workshop was held at Padova Hotel for the healthcare staff and included group activities and real case discussions. A presentation was then given to showcase the roles and good practices of the healthcare staff in the Order of Nurses, the Order of Midwives and the legal department as well as Caritas Lebanon’s good practices in addressing vulnerable cases. The workshop ended with recommendations about future collaboration and referral.
Between November 2018 and March 2019, Caritas Lebanon organized 20 awareness sessions with 534 women in different Lebanese areas within the framework of the project “Protecting Women and Girls From Violence in Lebanon” funded by the British Embassy. The legal department conducted these sessions and taught participants about Law No. 293 on the protection of women and other family members from domestic violence, and the Caritas Lebanon protection services for potential victims.
