Franco-German Prize for the Head of the Migrants Department at Caritas Lebanon Monday 10 December 2018

Since 2016, this prize has been awarded on a yearly basis to people who have made an exceptional contribution to the protection and promotion of human rights and the rule of law on the national and international levels. This prize symbolizes France and Germany’s constant commitment to human rights and the rule of law, and helps strengthen their cooperation in this field.

This year’s celebration was special as it marked the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Out of the 15 nominees courageously defending Human Rights around the world, Mrs. Hessen Sayah Corban, head of the Migrants Department at Caritas Lebanon, was the one who received the prize making her the first Lebanese person ever to win it.
